The three nations stated in a single statement on Friday that the agreement aims to combine the Future Combat Air System project, also known as Tempest, led by the UK, with Japan’s F-X program to put an upgraded front-line fighter aircraft into action by 2035 and this cooperation will be known as the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
“We are committed to upholding the rules-based, free and open international order, which is more important than ever at a time when these principles are contested, and threats and aggression are increasing,” the nations’ three leaders claimed in the report.
The newest weaponry is anticipated to be carried by the new Tempest fighter and to produce a combat aircraft with speed, stealth, cutting-edge sensors, and even artificial intelligence to support the human pilot when they are overloaded or under tremendous stress, work on developing it has already begun. it might also be capable of firing hypersonic missiles and flying without a pilot’s input if necessary.
