Ronaldo left Old Trafford last month as a result of an inflammatory televised interview in which the 37-year-old striker expressed his disdain for the organisation and its Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.

Al Nassr did not provide any financial information in a statement announcing the five-time Ballon Dor winner’s joining an agreement lasting until 2025.

winning the Ballon d’Or six times Cristiano Ronaldo parted company with his childhood club Manchester United just before the FIFA World Cup 2022. Still, he has now officially signed with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr. Ten days or so after the FIFA World Cup 2022 has ended, Ronaldo’s next transfer destination has been confirmed.

After Ronaldo gave a scandalous interview to Piers Morgan in which he criticised United’s management and infrastructure, the two parties had broken off their relationship days before the huge event in Qatar. Ronaldo exclaimed angrily that he did not respect manager Erik ten Hag and felt deceived by the club.

The Saudi club announced Ronaldo’s official signing to the world through a social media image in which Ronaldo is pictured holding up the number seven shirt of the squad that bears his name.

History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @Cristiano to your new home @AlNassrFC pic.twitter.com/oan7nu8NWC

The media has calculated the value of Ronaldo’s contract to be greater than 200 million euros.

“I am fortunate that I have won everything I set out to win in European football and feel now that this is the right moment to share my experience in Asia,” Ronaldo said.

“I am looking forward to working with my new teammates and helping the Club prosper with their support,” he said. After a dazzling tenure at Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid from 2009 to 2018, where he won two La Liga titles, two Spanish Cups, four Champions League crowns, and three Club World Cups, Ronaldo will come to Saudi Arabia with a significant collection of club accolades.

He represented Portugal in Qatar, where he scored a penalty against Ghana in his country’s opening Group H match to become the tournament’s fifth-most prolific scorer.

Morocco eliminated Portugal from the tournament in the quarterfinals.
