Imran Khan, the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), declared on Wednesday that his organisation has no connections to the new military administration.

In an interview, the former prime minister made this claim about retired Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa, the former Chief of Army Staff, who was removed from office following a no-confidence vote.

The ex-premier responded, criticising the former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa for his possible role in toppling the PTI government, “Look, we don’t have any contact with (the current military leadership) at the time.”

“They need to be questioned as to why, despite providing the best performance in the previous 17 years, they managed to overthrow our administration through a plot. What went wrong with us that they conspired with the army leader to overthrow our government? Since then, they have struggled to manage the economy ” he included.

The former premier blamed the current administration for the nation’s economic crisis and emphasised that the only way to resolve these issues is through free and fair elections. He also added that Pakistan’s financial situation has never been this bad.

The PTI leader asserted that ”the current administration, which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif heads, was installed through horse-trading.”

The PTI leader continued by saying that the coalition’s rulers had maintained their legal immunity and resolved the corruption issues in which they had been implicated in the past. “All of the cases against Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari, and Maryam Nawaz have been dismissed.”

The PTI leader said that he and former finance minister Shaukat Tareen had informed Gen. (Ret.) Bajwa that he had stoked unrest to ensure the success of the conspiracy, and that his prediction that the incoming administration would struggle to control the economy has come true.

“The market quickly lost faith in them. They (the government) were preoccupied with stealing NRO-2. The nation eventually descended into chaos. Any trader today can tell you if it’s because of us” He inquired.
