On Saturday, Rana Sanaullah, the interior minister, claimed that the PTI’s long march was intended to cause the blood of innocent people to be spilt in the federal capital.

Sanaullah stated at a news conference that PTI leader Imran Khan wants to create a scenario of law and order that would lead to conflicts between the people and law enforcement.

Based on an allegedly leaked tape in which Ali Amin Gandapur is heard discussing transporting weapons for the long march, he accused Khan of preparing to create disorder in the name of the long march.

Sanaullah spoke at a news conference and then leaked an audio recording from Gandapur in which he can be heard discussing transporting weapons and ammunition with an unknown person.

The interior minister claimed that the government has gained information about this communication based on initial investigations, but he declined to identify the unidentified person who is supposed to have been speaking to the PTI leader.

At a news conference in the federal capital, the interior minister described Khan’s behaviour as “undemocratic” and said the PTI leader had bad intentions. Imran Khan fitna wants to mislead the nation, we have been warned.

Sanaullah criticised Khan, saying, “Khan wants people to die instead of having a long march.” He was also accused of conspiring to divide and destroy the country.

The interior minister cited Faisal Vawda’s news conference from a few days earlier in which a close aide to Khan admitted that the PTI long march will end up being a “bloody march.”

He said, “Vawda was an insider and the PTI immediately denied the former minister’s statement.
